Women in Islam


The Role of Women in the Islamic Faith
  • In the modern world, The Muslim people are not sexist and women are not below men.
  • Islamic women are required to pray 5 prayers each day women are required to do this separated from of behind the men to prevent problems such as:
    Uncomfortableness
    Distraction
  • The more orthodox women would usually not work and her role would be to look after her house, children and husband, however if she wishes to work, in most cases she will be allowed to.

Islamic Women and Work
Islamic women in the modern world are allowed to work just as the men are however she is not allowed to work jobs that may offend her culture or violate the Islamic laws such as:
  • Serving alcohol
  • Wearing revealing attire
  • She must not refrain from abstinence
  • If she is required to leave her home, she must maintain her modesty

Dress Code and Behaviour

  • Islamic women are required to cover almost her whole body aside from her face and hands with a hijab or other garment depending of how strict she is.
  • Muslim women are forbidden to act seductive, superficial or dress revealingly as she is above the material world and so she is known for her personality, not her body.
  • Only her family and close friends may see her not completely covered.
